Publication in ‘Konstruktionspraxis’ magazine
‘Konstruktionspraxis’ magazine reports on our exponential gearbox.
Read moreThe exponential or multi-speed gearbox is predominantly designed for use in vehicles, the drives of which work best within a certain speed range. This applies in particular to all internal combustion engines in cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles, and is also suitable for vehicles with next-generation electric drives.
The possible number of gears is unlimited, but it is advisable to use up to a maximum of 81 gears.
The smaller number of components needs less construction space, saving space and weight. This could be the deciding factor between winning or second place in motor sport.
The high number of gears that can be shifted at any time allows you to drive or work within the optimum speed range. The resulting energy savings (e.g. fuel), coupled with a simultaneous performance boost, also protects the environment.
The lower number of components helps save on both material costs and assembly time, reducing the total production and manufacturing costs.
Scarcely visible yet of critical importance! Not much works without gears and more works with our gears!

WIN – WIN – WIN!
The basic requirements in the bike segment, whether sports bikes or cargo bikes, are a compact construction space and a low total weight. Every gramme of weight saved leads to greater impact with the same effort. The exponential gearbox meets both conditions and is therefore a delight for any cyclist!
Fixed weight requirements apply especially in motor sport. The Faller exponential gearbox provides the option of reducing the weight of the gearbox. This reduction in weight then provides design freedom to shift additional weight to improve traction.
