‘Konstruktionspraxis’ magazine reports on our exponential gearbox.
Read moreThe reduction gearbox is ideally suited for electric mobility in the car and truck sector as a wheel hub drive with two gears.
Originally, it was developed as a wheel hub drive for heavy-duty operation, especially in tractors, construction machinery, heavy-duty vehicles and earthmoving machinery, and continues to be used in these areas.
The benefits offered by the reduction gearbox mean that it is also increasingly being used for small and micro-drives.
Our internationally patented reduction gearboxes provide for greater efficiency from a reduced size. The basis for new possibilities has been created.
Only about 30% of the construction space required for multi-stage gearboxes up to now is needed to meet comparable transmission ratio and torque requirements. This is advantageous wherever minimal space and compactness is an issue.
The possible high gear reductions mean that the Faller reduction gearbox can replace most multi-stage planetary or cycloid gearboxes. Input, output and superimposition can be applied flexibly to the gears, enabling up to 7 gears.
The gear transmission ratio is achieved more easily than with Ravigneaux, Wolfrom or Simpson gears, by a continuous sun gear as well as a continuous ring gear, into which a planetary gear set interlocks from both sides. The smaller the difference between the number of teeth of the ring gear or the sun gear on the one side, and the number of teeth of the ring gear or sun gear on the other side, the greater the reduction or transmission of the gear. In this way, it is possible to achieve gear transmission ratios of up to 1:2,000 and higher in such a stage.
